2012 was an amazing year! I hit a few milestones in my life: graduating from college and starting my first full time job. I'm proud to say that I tried some new things along the way too. From learning how to hula dance to starting my blog, I am so thankful for everyone who has supported me. I am so blessed.

Happy New Years! I'm looking forward to 2013 :)

The World is My Oyster

To finish off my December travels, my final trip of the year was to Bainbridge Island. I took a ferry across the Puget Sound and met with an amazing group of people from my church for the weekend. Normally, we travel to Central Washington with fresh snow however I didn't mind the change of scenery this year. The beach was our backyard!

All in all, I am grateful that I could travel to 3 different places this month. Now that I have some time to reflect on my travels, there are so many beautiful places on Earth! Louis Armstrong could not have said it any better "and I think to myself... what a wonderful world!"

Christmas in the Sand

This Christmas, I traveled to Hawaii with my family. This trip was my first vacation from work and I enjoyed every minute of it! Everywhere I went, I always wanted to stay as long as possible so I could admire Hawaii's beauty. One morning, I hiked up Kaiwa Ridge at sunrise with some of my friends. The view was amazing! It was definitely worth waking up early for. Not only was I able to enjoy Hawaiian scenery from the hike, but I was also able to see it 3,000 feet above land in a helicopter! I felt like I was on a date on the Bachelor! What a lovely 10 days... Mahalo Hawaii for such a warm and wonderful vacation.

Starlight Weekend

Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas :)

This month has been crazy to say the least. I traveled to a few of my favorite places and spent time with some special people. A few weeks ago, I flew down to California to visit my boyfriend. I was beyond excited to see him again. One of the highlights of my trip was going to see the Festival of Lights and walk around the Grove. Everything was beautiful! I felt like a little girl again. I was so happy and in total awe of the pretty lights and displays. It was a great way to begin the holiday season!

Check back soon to hear more about the rest of my December travels!

Work Wednesday: Express Yourself

"Dress for the job you want, not the job you have."

When I started my marketing job, I quickly learned about our company dress code. Not because I was told what to wear, but because I learned it for myself. Everyday, I was very observant. I took mental notes of what people were wearing. After seeing my co-workers five times a week, I noticed a few things about their style. Everyday, my co-workers wore black pants and black shoes. The only thing that would consistently change was their shirt. As the new girl who was trying to figure out everything, I wore black pants everyday too.

But after a couple weeks, I got bored. After wearing black pants to work everyday, it was only a matter of time that I would get tired of them and want to dress differently. This was when I realized that I don't need to wear my new Anorak jacket or trendy colored jeans to be stylish. I could be stylish in a more professional way. I wasn't confined to wearing black pants like I thought I was. There are a million different ways of dressing for work and I'm ready to find out!

As you can tell, I have a strong interest in fashion and I like to express myself through what I wear. So I'll leave you with this: whatever you wear, wear it proud and don't forget to express yourself. :)

Work Wednesday: Early Bird

I've been working for 4 months now and this night owl is a night owl no more! Instead of pulling all nighters during my college days, this girl needs her beauty sleep. By 11 pm, I'm in bed and asleep. I wake up at 6:45 am and I'm out the door by 7:15 am. Yes, you read correctly... I have gotten my morning routine down to 30 minutes. It may not seem fast to you but I am proud of it!

Who would've thought that I would be an early bird...
(well for the weekdays at least!)

Fresh Flannel

As I was driving home the other day, I decided to take a nature walk. Even though I had so many things to do, I felt the urge to turn around and stop. It was the best decision I made that day. Oh how I love to smell fresh air! After a long week of work, I felt so refreshed. It was just what I needed.

So as we approach this busy time of year, in the words of Jack Johnson
"Slow down everyone you're moving too fast..."
